Here we go again. This is another wine that is in a weird phase. Right now all I get is smoke and some citrus. I’ve had this a few years back and loved it. But right now it’s really not in a good mood.

We opened the first of a half case as a marker and hope for it to show better again [as it did in pre-purchase tastings] in a few more years. It was tight, sharpish with a whack of suphur and not a patch on the 95s which we have sadly finished. OTOH it is still early for a Comtes and the 95 was great from the start - even if the 96 has been hyped as even greater.
