1996 Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Champagne Diamant Bleu - France, Champagne (10/23/2009)
Rich golden yellow with effusive tiny mousse. Apples, honey, minerals (chalk? - I always think chalk as the mineral component on champers), and bread on the nose. A biggish champagne, with apples, and a nice lemon/grapefruit aspect. This was very very very good. I am, however, skeptical about whether this 96 will age much more. I think that NOW is the time to drink this particular one.
