1996 Domaine Bizot Echezeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru (6/9/2009)
nose: lovely nose with pungent and balanced tones of blue fruits, red berries, bits of earth, a good amount of asian and brown spices with a touch of dark cherries. Good depth and it comes off as fairly open at this time
taste: excellent light feel with pretty tones of blue fruits, berries, bits of earth, dark cherries, tart raspberries and some various spice tones. The acidity is fairly in check considering the vintage. While its certainly there, it certainly isn’t the most acidic 96 that I’ve had
overall: the acidity was certainly more apparent on pop n pour. I let this bottle breathe for about 90 minutes after the initial pour. The nose was fairly open from the beginning and has melded more together with air. Slight bit of bricking, but with nice vibrant dark red color, this seems like its starting to enter its window and should be able to hold for another 10-15 (92 pts.)
