1995 Sylvain Cathiard Romanée St. Vivant - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru (12/20/2009)
Gorgeous wine, but oh so tight. Very deep, nearly opaque garnet. Initially not offering up much of anything on the nose, but after an hour or so of air, beautifully floral nose with some light baking spice. On the palate, this is very dense but smooth with fine tannins. This wine is very dense with great fruit and structure. I knew this would seem a little young, but man, this needs another 10 years. I have had some great 1995 red burgs recently, and this is yet another. In time, this will be killer. (93 pts.)
