TN: 1995 Soutard, St. Emilion

TN: 1995 Soutard, St. Emilion. Wow – now this is more than sort’a old school right bank. Ready to go, but no rush here. On the nose there is a touch of, way in the background to the fading fruit , its…basil? Or mint? Quite dry on the finish, and lean on the fruit, but just lovely in the mouth. A wine to definitely eat with something simple and bloody. $23. An enormously solid 89. [cheers.gif]

thanks for notes. I have a few, sounds like time to pop. I understand Soutard is more modern now, but I’ve had fine bottles from 1970 through mid-90s.
Maybe not greatest terroir, but solid St Em.
For some reason people seem to mix up with the late release Simard.

This is a bit juiciery after two hours. I think this could easily go another decade. Might go 90 points, if just.

Ironically I pulled my lone bottle of Soutard, a 1989, from my locker last night.
