TN: 1995 Malvira' Roero Superiore (Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Roero Superiore)

Nose has components of aged Nebbiolo clearly coming through - anise, violets, and a bit of sherry. Palate shows this wine is definitely at a point where it should be consumed - I’m guessing slightly downhill at this point. Fruit is approaching over-ripe, and the tannic structure is fully rounded and ripened to the point that it is almost undetectable, if not for its dustiness at the end. There is, however, still a good dose of fruit and bloody meat quality in the wine. The finish is rather short overall, but not unpleasant. For the price, this is a very good deal for a nicely aged Nebbiolo. (89 pts.)
