TN: 1995 Grand Mayne

From a bottle purchased on release this wine is drinking very nicely now. It is another 1995 Right Bank that highlights the success of the vintage in St. Emilion.

The nose is a delightful mélange of cool macerated plum with graphite, maple syrup and subtle spice. The kind of nose that a Pinot lover would enjoy. The nostril penetration is deep. Just perfect ripeness to accent the fruit without excess.

In the mouth there is medium bodied red fruit, earth, Asian spices, and toast on the long finish perfectly propelled by integrated acidity. This is real St. Emilion and I am glad to have another bottle to drink in the next 1-2 years.

I had a bottle of this within the past month as well.
I agree it’s drinking very well right now.

Timely note for me, I just bought a bottle of this on winebid a week ago. I’ll look forward to opening it soon.

I always enjoy this wine as well. Bet it was a winner in 95.
