TN: 1995 Chateau L'Arrosee

For some reason I did not have high hopes for this wine. Perhaps my expectations were lowered by the examples I tried from 1994, none of which were memorable. Tonight I found this wine to be in a very nice spot. The nose is vibrant and floral, and the wine has a velvety texture with medium weight and length. I was surprised how vibrant the red fruit is. In addition to cherry and raspberry notes, there are touches of toast, cedar, and subtle earth in the profile. The wine is balanced and integrated; elegant, not a blockbuster. I do not believe it will improve further with age, but it should last a few more years before declining. I will drink my remaining bottles within two years. A nice drink.
