Nice little Bertheau last night.

  • 1994 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (3/5/2016)
    Very nice '94. Aged sous bois nose, with wisps of cranberry. Light and lithe with a balance of tertiary flavors and a line of fading acidity. Very pleasing and easy-drinking right now. No fireworks. but did a lot of what I want from a 20ish year old 1er. Bertheau Charmes > vintage. Good drink.

Pleasant surprise, though I can’t say I’ve ever encountered a Bertheau I didn’t like.
