Pop & pour spur of the moment. Not great, there is lot going on but overpowering ashtray then cherry live saver flavors just not very enjoyable. Put 1/3 away for tomorrow. hope it improves. It did not. I had high hopes for this wine purchased recently from the winey, but it was very disappointing and proves the old axium there are no great wines only great bottles.

Do you feel like the wine was just too old and had fallen off it’s plateau, or that the wine was never very good?

I have some 94 Seavey that is drinking very well right now, and I still have 4-5 left and need to figure out what pace to pop them at.

The wine flavors where clear not muddled, nothing seemed to show any negative signs from aging, tannins where well integrated yet the backbone was still there. The bottle just tasted like I imagine a cherry cigar at Walgreen’s would, if you put it in a vita-mix.

I had one about a year ago and it was disappointing. The flavors you describe were not nearly as pronounced, but were present. I have a few younger ones from the 90’s and I guess its time to drink up.
