1992 Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville (1/10/2010)
initially decanted only one hour…dark red…opaque…can‘t read through it…no brown on the edges…this is 17 years old!!! …nose of dark cherry, espresso…cedar…tobacco as it opened…on the palate…dark Bing cherry…more coffee…long finish…it was initially quite astringent…but with air this smoothed out…not that points matter, but would rate it higher if not for this astringency…other notes have described this as acidity…I must respectfully disagree and characterize this as a fault rather than a plus…which, I believe , with more time will smooth out…IMO, this wine can easily age 5-10 years more .
