TN: 1991 Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaker's Reserve

I bought a six pack of this on release and drank them in their first ten years, with satisfaction. I liked it better than the 2001, but only by a smidge. Those were the happy days when sub $20 could buy a pretty solid Napa/Sonoma cabernet that could keep. Weird bottle shape though!

These were (quite simply) the greatest value Cabernets coming out of this country back then. And many times, the regular bottling was just as good as the Reserve. And $9.99 price tags were easy to find. Even with cheap pricing back them, you literally had to beg your wholesaler for some every year. Luckily, they made a decent Chardonnay back then, so you could always make a deal -

I tracked down a few bottles of this after a previous TN of yours. I agree, really lovely bottle
