TN: 1990 Parusso Barolo armando Bussia (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)

  • 1990 Parusso Barolo armando Bussia - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (1/1/2012)
Lovely aged Barolo. Beautifully integrated, somewhat rustic notes of red fruit, rose hip, tar, smoke and leather. Gliding palate shows firm acidity, red fruit, minerals and licorice root. Fine, long finish. Delicious now with a truffled risotto but in no danger of fading anytime soon. (93 pts.)

That’s an odd CT listing. “Armando” is the first name of the producer, not a “Designation”.

Yes, I know Ken. I simply selected it out of CT, I didn’t put it in myself. Somewhat of a CT newbie but as I use it to read notes I figured I should contribute as well. I am sure you are familiar with the wine and the Azienda Vitivinicola.

I know. I see 10 vintages of that wine plus 2 of a “Parusso Barolo armando Bussia Vigna Rocche”. I know this is a constant effort for Eric. Once one person puts in a wrong entry, others pile on and reproduce it. Interestingly, none of those have pix.

I think Armando is the name of “The Gay Caballero”…

Nice note, Loren - I’ve also got the Mariondino from this vintage, and have been meaning to do both wines side-by-side one of these days to see which one I like better.
