TN: 1990 Fabien Coche-Bizouard Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or

Beautiful spring afternoon in the south yesterday called for a white Burg on the deck.

  • 1990 Fabien Coche-Bizouard Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d’Or - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (4/18/2016)
Opens with vibrant light yellow color. Smells of honey and butter and pineapple. The palate is round and rich at first, butterscotch notes buffered by a wiry acidity that is really vibrant. The knock from really being something is that it is lacking in the middle and feels a bit too round once it opens. However, totally sound and quite enjoyable outside on a beautiful spring afternoon.
