TN: 1990 Château Montrose

1990 Château Montrose - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe (5/17/2016)

Elegant black fruit, spices and cacao on the nose. Wow! mouth filling with rich dark fruit, some leather, forest floor and tobacco. Pure, sweet, seductive and gorgeous, beautifully balanced and very long. This bottle was perfect now and will last for years. Stunning BDX!!!

Nice when you get a good one.

Beyond nice. Seems like that wine has some funky bottles, but when one gets a clean one it’s a fantastic wine. I had a great bottle about four years back that ,to me, was as good as wine can get.

I had this recently and it was a great bottle +1. Really showing beautifully

Agreed. I had my first one good one a couple of years ago and it was amazing. Of course, I’ve had it over a dozen times over the past 20 years and every other bottle was a DNPIM microbial disaster, so my average rating still hasn’t broken into the 70s.

When it’s great, it’s great. When it’s not…I’m with you.
