TN: 1989 Huët Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Le Haut-Lieu

  • 1989 Huët Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Le Haut-Lieu - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray (4/18/2009)
Dinner with Steve & Barb. Medium gold in the glass, this wine is really still an infant. A little waxy on the nose upon opening. Full bodied with a tremendous depth and concentration to the fruit. Plenty of residual sugar for now but perfect acidity to match. Perfectly paired with the fois gras in blackstrap molasses sauce. Very long on the finish. Still has at least 20+ years of positive development ahead of it and 50+ years of great drinking. 50+15+14+9+9 = 95+ (95 pts.)

Thx for the note.

The 89 Huet 1er tri wines are fabulous. I only regret I did not buy more when they were in the market.

You are so right that they will be timeless wines.

Amen.

Love the '89s… [dance-clap.gif]
