Extremely good bottle. At first on open it was very secondary - bright floral nose with tones of oak and leather, with front not very fruity but very balanced and long. As it opened over a few hours the nose intensified (rose petals) and dark red fruit emerged, combined with chocolate, leather, and spicy pepper on the back. Generous mouth watering acid and smoothed tannins complemented smoked duck ragu.
A lovely wine in a great place.
I have one more bottle, I hope it’s as good. '89 is a really good year in Borudeaux, a bit unappreciated I think.
