TN: 1986 Montelena Estate Cabernet

I’m weary too. Perhaps you meant 'wary". neener

woops

its been a long day, wearied is how I feel

Would be “wary” “weary” and even “whereieh” of any California Cabernet from 1988. Anyone ever have a good one from this vintage? Can’t think of one myself that was even remotely enjoyable?

I tried an 88 Monte Bello that was lack luster or worse and it was from their cellar.

dictator hated this wine;

“Heavy-handed with oak. Leafy, earthy flavors challenge the Cabernet and chocolate flavors. The finish gets woody and tannic. Best to let it sit until 1993 and beyond. Tasted three times. Beware of bottle variation. –”

The '88 Kenwood Artist was excellent, as was the '88 Mt. Eden.

Bob, I’m hangin’ onto a few 01 and 03 Mount Eden Cabs and the game plan is to open around 2020.

Based on past experience, should I pop em sooner or does that time frame sound reasonable?
