1986 Kistler Cabernet Sauvignon Kistler Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley (12/26/2009)
While the alcohol has faded and the acid has neutralized, this cab remains rich and full bodied with vivid and plentiful fruit and lingering tannins, almost a distant mirror to their pinots. This was a surprise and a real winner. Kistler should have kept making cabernets. (93 pts.)

I’ve had but one Kistler Cab, probably 7 years ago. I forget the vintage, but believe is it was late 80’s and it was as great as your note says - quite a surprise and I really wish that they kept the Cab program going.
