1978 Château Trotanoy - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (3/31/2014)
bottom neck fill, cork removed easily with an ah so. Initially the nose offered up balsawood, dry earth, plums, and black cherries. After a bit of time in the decanter, mint also became apparent. On the palate, I tasted black tea, dark chocolate, saddle leather, black cherries, hints of bell pepper, and a hint of a lighter red fruit, maybe strawberries. A fully mature and lovely wine. Always fun to have a birthyear wine on your birthday. Paired with grilled ribeyes.
