TN: 1976 Dom. Labruyere, Moulin-a-Vent

TN: 1976 Dom. Labruyere, Moulin-a-Vent (Selection Portier). A nice Burgundian funk on the nose smooths out with air. Fully mature, of course, but this does not taste over the hill. There is a swell of sweet fruit that saves the finish from becoming too dry. It’s a little diffuse on the end, but I find it just lovely tonight. I would have guessed an old Beaune, maybe from 1978. A $12 auction buy that paid off – the other bottle did not! A solid 87 points.

Old Beaujolais can be a wonderful kick in the pants.
