    still young appearing still. lovely pure nose. leather, cassis and a floral almost rosy nose. Medium bodied, deep and very pure. The nose is beautiful. There is still fruit and some baking bitter chocolate, and more leather on the palate. There is clarity and prettiness, but there is quite a bit of '75 austerity. Very pure, but an astringency that detracts from the finish. I’ve been following this wine for around a decade now, around halfway though the stash. All the blles so far had the fruit come out nicely with some air, becoming a complete wine. This is the fist blle that makes me worry about the tannins outliving the fruit. 88 pts (88 pts.)

Thanks for the report Todd. I’ve got a couple bottles I’ve been cellaring, figuring that they could use some more time. I suspect that they will be OK down the road, as I’ve had a couple other '75s where the tannins finally mellowed quite a bit. But with Gruaud, that may take time! [cheers.gif]
