TN: 1971 Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi) Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

  • 1971 Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi) Brunello di Montalcino Riserva - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (6/23/2025)
Had a mid-shoulder fill and was singing. Leather and spice and all things nice. Wild herbs, baked earth, salami and briary fruits. Chewy, deep, authoritative and long and savoury. Structural elements are still there but they support.

Jeremy, thanks for your always interesting notes and for a non native speaker a few new words to the vocabulary (this time briary)!

Jeremy, thank you for the delicious note.
I could almost taste it, and was picturing myself at dinner.
May I ask if you have tasted the 1975 Riserva ?
I have a dusty bottle chilling for decades.

It’s brilliant; in our vertical it was the best by a significant margin.

Thank you Mark. Hopefully, it will be a “good” bottle.

Hi Victor, I haven’t had the '75 but based on Mark’s glowing praise I want to.

kind regards
Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy. Love your TN’s.

Thanks Victor. That is very kind of you to say.
