1970 Château Palmer - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (9/3/2009)
Mmm, this is stellar wine. Not decanted until we got to the restaurant. This immediately greeted me with lovely notes of tobacco. As it aerated there was a hint of mint, plum cake, and sandalwood. Soft as silk, indescribably complex, utterly delicious. We followed the bottle for 2.5 hours. Just textbook Bordeaux at a lovely point of maturity. (96 pts.)
