1969 Château La Gaffelière
Opened by Mark who got it from a friend in France who bought it at auction. I’ve had the 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2010 but nothing this old. Parker wrote that 1969 was his candidate for the least desirable vintage in the last 30 years. Wet and crumbly cork. Not decanted. Very little sediment. Lighter reddish orange color. Notes of iron and not much fruit. Still drinkable but certainly past its peak. The others trying this wine liked it better than me. 77 points.
