    Full bottle bought from K&L from a private collection. Medium amber color; nose shows some good baked fruit and orange peel; palate shows great initial burst of flavor/orange peels along with some honey and some hints of iron/metal and minerals, moderate sweetness on the palate, transitioning to a burst of mouthwatering acidity on the mid-late palate; finish is nice but quite short. Overall excellent and drinking very well now. (92 pts.)

I’m not sure what exactly you mean by this. Like why did I choose tonight to open the bottle? Or what glassware I used?

I have never had a sauternes of this age before and K&L wines here was selling them recently for $80, which I thought was a ridiculous price for a great sauternes chateau with 40+ years of age that had at least a couple good notes. I picked it up yesterday and decided I just wanted to try it. No particular special occasion, though I made one up to justify opening the wine. I drank it out of Riedel Sommelier stems and still have a half bottle to follow it for the next few days. I don’t know if anyone else here bought a bottle from K&L but thought the bottle was unique enough to me that others may enjoy hearing about it.
