TN:09' Evesham Wood Gruner Veltliner

09’ Evesham Wood Gruner Veltliner- 2nd of a three pack purchased a year ago. Nose really makes me think, first I get smoke, kumquat, sea salt, soapy lilac and vanilla on the last whiff. Medium weight palate with chalk, kumquat, orange rind, vanilla, sharp acid that rounds the vanilla on the palate out and plants itself firmly in Austria. Great finish that keeps going with a streak of smooth, very subtle vanilla on the palate.
I hate to keep on saying vanilla, because it’s not an oak note, it’s the grape and I don’t know if I’m properly explaining the note but it sits on the palate with medium weight and a cool smoothness that binds the wine together. I’m curious what ten years will do to this wine?
