TN: 09 Dr. Wehrheim Pinot Noir

Dr. Wehrheim Spätburgunder Trocken –Pfalz, Germany 13% alc.

I tried the ‚08 a couple of weeks ago and I must say that this is one of the few instances where I prefer the 2009 to the 2008 (which I found a little metallic). The ’09 has a nice fullness without being plush and good depth of berry fruit, a smoky, savory middle and a good acid and tannin balance. It is another very tasty entry-level Pfälzer Pinot Noir from a vintage that should change the minds of a lot of doubters in regard to German Pinot.

Cheers,
Bill
