TN: 09' Donnhoff kruez krot kab

1st of the 09’s so Donnhoff it is.
Bright and clean with notes of lanolin and beeswax on the nose, whiffs of mint and dusty chalk follow with Orange rind and saddle leather. Very floral and classy. Entry is big, full, ripe with moderate+ acidity with loads of steel, slate, ripe orange, mango, this wine has a roundness from the entrance to the finish that is fantastic. really nice stuff.

The Kreuznacher Krotenpfuhl is a nice addition to the Donnhoff stable, as it is a notably different expression from his other wines. I find it earthier and richer than his more focused, linear wines from the sites we have already come to know from him.

It really reminded me of Strub, pepper, dark fruits almost cassis sometimes. I did really enjoy the orange peel blast of fruit that this gives.
I just had the 02’ Ober L Kab that I had the other night, tightly wound, very specific, pinpoint in every way but I though still in a closed phase so I do agree with your assessment of differing styles.
