07’ Don Carlo WallaWalla Cabernet-I opened this wine last Thursday, left it on the counter for 2 days, put it in the fridge until tonight. On the first night the wine showed reductive, young, woody and certainly New world and Washington in style. Tonight: Full rich nose with Sandlewood, cream, blueberry, hint of brown sugar, very pretty if not one dimensional. The tannins are smooth with moderate acidity, creamy texture, blueberry, ripe but not overdone, finishes long with a bit of wood tannin at the end. Nice first effort.
haven’t heard of these folks. Who are they?
Newish Walla Walla Valley winery with an estate vineyard down in the Rocks that’s recently come on-line. Founded by Lori and Tim Kennedy, with Lori the driving force behind the winery. Tim was the originator of Tim’s Cascade Potato Chips, although he has since sold it. Last time I went there Tim was serving chips straight from the oven.
