TN: 07 Carlo Boffa [Barbaresco]

07 Carlo Boffa [Barbaresco] I’d never had nor heard of this producer before. I’m assuming the family must be related to the Pio Cesare folks? Label states 14% abv, but it feels medium bodied and balanced. We had it over a couple nights with random midweek food - burgers, teriyaki chicken etc. It pairs well with those but is gentle enough to drink on its own. Its a ruby hue, with a little lightening at the edges. There’s a nose of cinnamon and Christmas cookies. I like the palate - red berries, rosewater and just a fine line of tannin still there. On the first day it seemed a little creamy, but that blew off. Seems to be traditionally made. I like it and would slot it in the B+ category.

Is there anything interesting to know about this house?
