I gave this about 1 hour of air before drinking.
Nice nose but I found the palate quite oaky and it really didn’t go away. All in all I was very unhappy…and I have a ton of this stuff to drink.
Steve, I didn’t find my recent bottle overly oaky…alcoholic yes, but not oaky. We had a 2006 Goldmine Ranch on Friday that was pretty warm also…almost to point of being Port like, and it wasn’t very oaky either.
The wheels are coming off for Carlisle . . . two poor notes in a day!!!
And the BDX prices are falling as well…run for the hills.
I had this on Sunday as well. Finished the bottle of last night. It mellowed a bit but not much. Very Gamey/Meaty. Very delicous.
