Various good stuff over the last couple of weeks.

2005 Ridge Geyserville - USA, California, Sonoma County (12/3/2009)
What a consistently lovely wine. Taking on more complexity but still with the full fruit. More earth and the traditional Rhone-like notes I find in the Geezers that have significant Petite and Carignane. Great mouth feel. Beautiful Med spice nose. Yum. (92 pts.) -
2006 A Donkey and Goat Syrah The Recluse - USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley (12/3/2009)
At GlassHalfull. On opening quite closed but with real rich black fruit. Began to open up fairly quickly adding gamey notes, spice and a bit of eucalyptus. Some tarry, burnt and earthy flavors. Some tannin and the alcohol shows through just the littlest bit. Another quite young yum. (91 pts.) -
2006 Belle Pente Riesling - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (12/3/2009)
With Thanksgiving dinner. Really lovely melon and citrus. Nice and tart, full, pretty rich with excellent fruit. Mostly dry, this was a delight with mineral and good acidity. Probably nice over the next 5 years. Sadly only one left. (90 pts.) -
2006 Torii Mor Pinot Noir Temperance Hill - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (12/3/2009)
For Thanksgiving. Opened a bit muted but soon showed nice tea and strawberry. Fleshed out over the evening becoming more voluptuous and round. Quite rich but not overblown. Great spice and strawberry, raspberry fruit. I just wish we had waited a few years… (90 pts.)
