I read a very nice note on the other board about this wine but the 01 vintage. Then I read the comment from Daniel that the 05 is crappy so I opened one of my bottles from Garagiste. It is good wine that has plenty of dark fruit, but as it gets lots of air time it becomes very loamy very much like a Don Melchor wine. I don’t mind it, but maybe others don’t find the loaminess attractive.
For me the intense earthy and mineral character of Terra di Lavoro creates the mystique of the wine and is what I find infinitely attractive. Also based on Posner’s comment, I mean to try an 05 sooner rather than later.
