TN: '04 Coudoulet de Beaucastel

Not many detailed notes on this one, but it is one of my favorites for a well-priced French wine. The '05 is far better, but also harder to find. These '04’s are widely available at our local Costco for $18, so if I need more, I can always grab a few.

Still some heat on the nose, which is rather tight, but the ripe red bramble fruits are coming through. Big body on this wine, even after being open over 2 hours - there are grippy tannins, which are both bitter yet also sweet, if that makes sense. Enough acidity to last a few years, but I think these are short-term drinkers.

Haven’t had the Coudelet in a while but I am determined to before the price escalates any more.

Thanks for the note.

If you have a Costco, check it out. If they have '05, skip '04 and go '05 - it’s significantly better than the ‘good’ '04

I have it in my store…

Oh, that’s right - you are ‘connected’…
