TN - '01 Ramonet Batard Montrachet

I had forgotten about this wine and then realized that I should do a premox check. Wow, what a winner!

'01 Ramonet Batard Montrachet-
The nose started with a bit of reduction but with air it cleaned up beautifully. The aromatics are gorgeous with loads of rich minerally lemon flowers. The palate is an explosion! This is rich but more precise than many Batards. Awesome length. I think it drinks perfectly now but nothing seems in a hurry. Great, great stuff!

I love it! Pop an '01 Batard Montrachet just to do a premox check!

Color me envious!

I have had such a bad premox run, that I thought the odds this was good were low. In any case, I am happy I opened it!

I’ve had good luck with Ramonet actaully though I know they have a rep on premox. Did a vertical of the B-M from 92 on and the only one that was off was the 93. 96 and 99 were wonderful. And yah the 01 is really nice.
