I think Grivot doesn’t get as much Burg love as deserved.

’01 Grivot Nuits St. George Boudots-
Some slight initial barnyard aromas clear with air. The nose is super complex with spiced game, dusty rocks and dried cherries. This is meaty, resolved and savory on the palate. It has great depth and well integrated oak. There is a little cranky Nuit-ness but with air this is really smooth, spicy and delicious. Overall this is a wonderful, meaty rendition of this terrific vineyard. Drink now to 2025.

The 01 Vosne Beaux-Monts was also beginning to show well a year ago, though it’s still years away from its prime.

I still have two 95 Les Beaux Monts left of theirs that I’m gonna sit on a while longer as the one I had in march was lovely, but you could tell it wanted to give a lot more.

I’m glad that grivot has stayed under the radar, but I remember reading on the other forum that they’ve upped their pricing recently to reflect where they think they belong in the burg food chain [cray.gif]

I have a few bottles of teh 99 version of this, I’ll give one a go soon, and probably get myself some good ole flannery to do it right

I’ve liked recent vintages of Grivot. Certainly the 05 Clos de Vougeot and even the VR villages.

I don’t think that it is an estate that flies under the radar. The Richebourg is highly sought after and quite expensive and the Echezeaux and the VR 1er crus are as well.

I think folks are still coming to grips with the whole Accad influence in the late 80’s early 90’s and I think Grivot’s wines and reputation were affected in those years. Presently, it seems pretty much a consensus that this is a top flight estate.
