00’ Owen Roe Rosa Mysta block Cab Franc-
First night showed great aromatics, Now, it’s more on the side of Chappellet Pritchard hill CF than Chinon… Modern, forward Cassis note white flowers, mint, cream… palate follows the nose with cassis, mulberry spice and vanilla, great lift with a nice stream of acidity gives way to a long creamy finish. More leaf, crushed mint, baking spice wrapped around a smooth cassis berry core and just a hint of brown sugar at the end.
Crunchy, chewy, really delicious…This wine is not large, nor heavy, nor overblown, ripe, yes, but not fat or spoofed, just what I wanted from this wine when I decided to age it all those years ago.
Let’s find a day and go out in Seattle.
Well Mondays work, I still have a 94’ Comte Vogue Moos to kill, I assume the acidity would lend itself to a mid-afternoon delight.
