The Manhattan stores have had quite a bit of Lodge cast iron recently - some of it marked irregular but how bad can a slight blemish in a cast iron skillet be? The Upper West store also currently has some OXO Uplift Anniversary Edition teapots, on which I had been searching for a deal for some time.
I’ve found the Upper West Side store to be best for cookware (there is also a Homegoods directly across the street - not as many bargains but more regular stock). The 6th Ave store is ok, the 8th Ave store one of the worst.
I’d also agree with the others. Persistence is rewarded as one never knows what will be there.
I never heard of HomeGoods – looked them up and there are 2 or 3 stores within 10 miles of me. Will have to check it out. And I thought TJ Maxx was a clothing store? Thanks for this thread guys.
I see Lodge and Le Creuset (regular and seconds) all the time. I can not see a thing wrong with most of the Le Creuset seconds - I wish they’d put an arrow sticker on it to show where the “problem” is. I drop into one of those stores 10-12 times a year and I’ve never seen Shun or All Clad, that would be awesome.
I’ll try to say this carefully : I’ve had better luck finding nicer kitchen items at stores in less wealthy areas of the city. I assume there is less interest there.
I picked up some 9" cake pans the other day for more than 50% off what the Bed, Bath, and Beyond had them for.
