Timing is everything

Missed the premier cru sale again.(actually got a few 2005 Morey Les Charrieres, Alain Michelot) but missed alot of stuff I would have bought.

Sorry, just whining…

Hi Berry,

Don’t whine about getting some 2005 Alain Michelot wines, even if you missed other good stuff you have done well scoring these! I am a big fan and his wines are very expressive of where they come from. Even better, they usually complete bargains for what is very decent Burgundy. 2005 is a top vintage, of course. I’ve just purchased some Nuits villages vieilles vignes and Nuits 1er cru Richemone 05s from him (only two bottles of each, though, money is tight and there is so much good stuff that I must buy) and I’m rather chuffed to have got them.

Good wines, be happy you own them!

Cheers,
David.

Some great stuff in this sale. I missed the 2000 Conseillante halves but bought some 2005 Magdelaine and the 2007 Dujac Beaumonts.

First thing I clicked on

Happy to hear. Never tried the wines so just took a chance

06 Chevillon Chaignots and Pruliers for $26.99 [swoon.gif]

Gone of course.

Hello Keith,

Sorry, I am posting like crazy this evening. That Dujac Beaumonts 07 is a hilariously fine wine, really sex-tastic. I reviewed the Dujac 2007s from cask a couple of years ago and bloody loved them. They were great then but during their elevage they noticeably improved and when it came to tasting them out of bottle they were quite fantastic; easily some of the best 07s on the Cote. I hope the bottles you purchased were at a good price, Dujac wines may be great but they are also muy expensivo.

Cheers,
David.

They had it for $90, certainly the lowest I’ve seen for this wine for as long as I can remember.

Grrrrr

Winnning isn’t everything. Agree on the timming. Almost pulled on this one too but passed for bank account recovery. That Chevillon Pruliers was a sensational deal.

Ofcourse, it’s a shame there really aren’t any good Burg values < $100.

RT

Don’t you mean ‘pulllled’ ?

Who is this Tim? What about him excites Berry?

I clicked on the $40 Magdelaines and $27 Chevillons, but haven’t gotten a pdf yet. We’ll see,

Are you sure you want to know?

Got 4 of the Magdelaines. Too slow on everything else. $40 for Magdelaine is well below wholesale in these parts. What does one get for $40 in California these days?

It was an unbelieveable price on Magdelaine. They also had a great sale on the Canon recently at $60/bottle. Now all I need is Belair to complete the trilogy.
