Thoughts or reviews of 2006 Harlan Maiden

I just brought home 6 bottles of the 2006 Harlan Maiden and would love to hear any reviews that you all may have. Planning on drinking one at a buisness dinner this coming week and am curious what I’m in for. Being in the Omaha wine market, we are often times forced to buy and drink younger wines as our vendors ( including myself) cannot keep the inventory needed to drink many wines at their peak. But I am very eager to hopefully enjoy yet another great product from Harlan!

I recently did a tasting at BOND of the entire 07 lineup. Very impressive across the board. Quella and Vecina were coincidentally my two favorites. However, they would certainly benefit from a few years rest. The 07 Pluribus is the exception. It doesn’t need a few years, it needs a few decades.

The Maiden (and Matriarch) are always delicious young wines. Although in general a lot of 06 Napa Cabs (to me) seem to be a little more tannic, I think a few hours decant (if possible) would allow that 06 to show quite nicely.
