Thoughts on wine suitcases ?

This x1000. However, re: Europe: I have always been able to purchase a cardboard shipper at the local MailBoxes, Etc.

The thought of a wine suitcase outside in high heat just doesn’t sit good with me. I hear you though.

You can fill some bottles with 55 degree water in the suitcase and test it at home if you want. It won’t warm up as fast as you think it will.

The only complaint I have about the vingarde is the included straps. I bought a third party strap to put in-between the two provided ones (through the handles).

I took those off immediately. No need for them.

The straps pop off anyway.

They got bought by the original inventor

Not true. The original inventor was Barry Wax, who sold the rights to what became FlyWithWine. An investor came in - Bill Forster - FlyWithWine declared bankruptcy, ForsterVGV was formed and holds the inventory as well as the IP now, and the former head of FlyWithWine is collaborating with the new owners now.

Ah, makes sense; I know it was someone who was involved with the business.

I have 2 Pelican 1440 Cases, they hold 8 bottles and foam inserts from a place called cobra foam inserts, here in so cal, under 50lbs full.

It’s typically a mix. Coming from home usually bringing Cali/Oregon Pinot and Chardonnay and California cab blends. Coming home tends to be German and French mix, including sparkling.

Can report vingarde has been great. I was able to fit 14 bottles in my 12 bottle suitcase.

The guy who put my suitcase on the scale looked twice and I was like /whistling. He pushed it through. What a homie.
