Seems highly unlikely that these could make their way back to the restaurant.
Why? The insurance company isn’t going to pay on recovered goods.
Seems more like a Squires board purchase.
My thought was, how can the storage conditions these last four weeks be known?
According to the article in Napa Register, the detectives brought the wine back with them. I doubt they worried about the provenance, but hopefully they brought it back in styro.
It is technically evidence. With the DA’s approval, they can process the bottles, photograph them and return them to the owner. A lot depends on who the suspect(s) is/are and what evidence they have. You can rest assured they are looking at it closely hoping to tie the suspect(s) into the previous burglary up valley, about one year prior.
There needs to be a cop show about a pair of wine detectives in Napa and their adventures…
Guys, sorry I took all the DRC from FL. I was just trying to be a baller.

Nick,
You’ll have to make it up. These guys are beer drinking, card playing youngsters with alligator arms. There are 4 deputies that occasionally purchase cigars at the store and only two who ever bought wine. It’s probably a good thing so they were dedicated to solving a crime and arresting a criminal. Unfortunately, they may keep the wine in the evidence room for years until it is vinegar or worse.

Basements are great places to find wine . . . if the owners let you in first. ![]()
