I watched the first episode . . .
The only thing I have to contribute is that the first guy to get cut, the one who had grasshoppers, kind of looked like Zac.

I only caught the very end so I can’t contribute much here either. But I did think it was awesome that they made someone cook with unborn eggs still connected to the Fallopian Tubes.
I’d like to see the whole episode
Not sure what to make of this show just yet. The first episode was a bit of a cluster F in my opinion. Ingredients were so off the wall that there wasn’t much that anyone seemed to be able to do with any of it.
Even in Iron Chef America they typically deal with foods that one would find on a lot of fine dining restaurants’ menus. I can’t think of a time when they were asked to make an entire meal based on something as obscure as any of those things.
I agree that was a rather weird first episode … seems like that might have been a better episode for halfway through the contest … whatever. I’m looking forward to the next one, though.
That show was beyond pathetic.
Forget the ridiculous choices of “foods.” Why not give them all the same ingredient? The idea of giving one person grasshoppers, and another eel, is too much. And don’t you wonder why didn 't they show the judges eating some of that crap?
It is like they saw how good Top Chef Masters was and decided to do the same thing but really mess it up in the process.
Both challenges made no sense to me and at a level the second one was really not fair.
Still is on my Tivo. Lets see how it does.
Chef Greenspan happens to have a very good restaurant in LA, The Foundry. He is truly talented and unfortunately never really got to show his skills. Tough luck fo sho.
