The New ("Natural | Classical") Burgundy

Burgundy is too dynamic of a region for such a dismissive statement.

It’s certainly not intended to be dismissive.

If we can talk about the ‘nouvelle vague’ then we can point out that it’s a tiny proportion of growers.

Just as the VDP is not affected by AltMosel, the vast majority of growers are unaffected these ‘new guys’.

I certainly think the wine made by the producers that either identify themselves as part of the movement or that are marketed as such is very small, but that doesn’t mean 99% of the other producers are stale or that it’s either nouvelle vague or status quo.

Little point arguing semantics…

altaber makes the wines at derain now too. i just had some of the 20s and they tasted quite clean. a big step up from his early work.
