I love Riesling and drink more Riesling than any other type of white wine. But, at the very top level, I think nothing compares with the top Chardonnay’s from Burgundy and Champagne so I voted for Chardonnay.
Chardonnay of course.
No question about it.
Def in top three. IMHO
Riesling, easy.
Riesling. but Chenin is in the conversation.
Whenever i have a great Riesling I chide myself a little for not buying more. Whenever I have a great CdB white I chide myself for not being able to buy more.
Impossible to say: Riesling and Chardonnay are on an equally high level but very different.
So I voted “other” just to view the results.
The question was “the most noble”, no? If the definition of noble is = variety with most pedigree or history, then it has to be Riesling. Chardonnay is an upstart.
What a silly poll. What the hell - This year, for me, Riesling. Even after starting off in January with multiple Raveneau.
Pinot blanc.
Chardonnay is the most popular, and highly regarded white grape variety in my opinion. But both Riesling and Chardonnay are savored differently.
