Thanks Martin, I visited the Karthauserhof estate this weekend (we were received very well btw), which also procudes GG wines - any reason why this estate was not included in the overview? Thanks.
I selected 95% of the wines personally and 5% by recommendations from winemakers&journalists and friends. Of course some wines I miss. For example I forgot to include a Kabinett from E. Loosen& Fritz Haag or the Kabinett from JJ Prüm which was not ready at the tasting due to late release. This happens…
But most importantly we found out that 2012 is a wonderful Kabinett-vintage. So, of course Karthäuserhof is worth considering.
AND I could not include every GG, as 33 wines is more than enough for a tasting.
Delighted to see SF do so well although I marginally preferred his Stromberg to the Felsenberg this year. Surprised not to see the g max but assume that’s because it wasn’t tasted.
You´re right, 2012 “Stromberg” from Schäfer-Fröhlich is magic. My favourite Dry Riesling at the VDP-Pre-Tasting of GGs 2012 end of august . 400 GGs presented.
