Anyone else notice all of the Evening Land offers coming out of Garagiste lately? These are quality wines and I have snagged a few of the chards coming out of Sonoma and Burgundy. Costco blew out some Evening Land Edna Valley chards last year that are fantastic for $15.
I clicked on Evening Lands website and noticed that their Sonoma and Burgundy sections are not active - but their Oregon section is. Have they abandoned Calif/Burgundy and are now focusing on Oregon exclusively?
EL is blowing out their Burg and CA offerings here locally too, or at least, they were. I have noticed their wines on the flash sale sites over the past year.
They’ve really been unstable since they started. Oregon is their main focus, but they will apparently still produce wine from Sonoma & Burgundy. The Sta Rita Hills vineyards were sold to Terroir Brands & now produce Domaine de la Cote. Evening Land/Seven Springs will now operate under Terroir Brands as well. Hence all the closeouts around.
Apparently despite all Tarlov’s bullshit, the brand has yet to turn a profit. It would be great if St Innocent, Evesham Wood & the others who used to make Seven Springs SVD’s could access the fruit again.
I know that. Hence the mention of Parr’s group, but for all his posturing early on- you’d think they might have made money & not ended up in Garagiste bin ends.
They are under completely new ownership (Rajat Parr, et al); Tarlov has been out for some time… http://www.winespectator.com/webfeature/show/id/48150[/quote]
Yep – excellent point, and certainly they’ve not lacked for either 1) endearing press; or 2) opportunities to price above market (and seemingly get it, with some their stuff…).

Personally, I’m not very happy with this set of wines, although I was quite happy with the last $250 mystery case I purchased, and I haven’t actually tasted any of these new wines yet. I’m only really looking forward to a couple of them, though.
My experience with Garagiste has been generally positive, but this purchase makes me pause a bit.
Some serious self-parody going on in tonight’s offer. Still shaking my head. And coming just a few days after some stirrings of the old Garagiste with the Lapandery offer.
You know, living in Seattle I found this a totally reasonable thing to offer, although certainly more than I’d pay. Stories like that are in every other gift shop in this city.
