Incredible selection of treasures — best of luck to Don
Extremely inexpressive on my one encounter, it has to be said.
Noting the charming emoticon above it was a good ten years ago and the wine may well have opened since but it is not a uniformly successful vintage at Roumier.
Many wines from 1999 (I,haven’t had any roumier in recent decades) are still surprisingly a bit shut down.
99 BM was coming around last summer. I had the musigny last year too and it wasn’t shut down, just wasn’t super impressive, at least that bottle wasn’t.
Absolutely-it is at the lower end that the vintage currently shines. There was apparently an experiment with adding powdered tannin at Roumier which may not have been an unqualified success.
Can you share a link to ontime delivery? The only one I see is in Australia. I am on the East Coast and wouldn’t have a large quantity.
HDH will supply all winning bidders with shipper options and their contacts.
Thanks. Their website makes it sound like they won’t help with this at all. I even emailed them and have not heard back.I’ve actually got it figured out now. My wine storage facility offers this service.
I have found HDH very easy to deal with on auction shipping. For what I suspect are liability reasons, it requires a bit more effort to ensure their “hands” are not on the shipment, but they will provide multiple shipping options most of which will be no more expensive than buying from online wine retailers.
Thanks for the feedback. This might be a less expensive option than what I was planning on doing. I will go ahead and bid with the confidence that I will figure out how to get the wine to me.
