I have never purchased a bottle of ER17 - just had pours, usually out at Aldarra with buddies.
i regret that i got into whiskey after the pirate bottles were gone. I love heaven hill so much, I still hope I can track down an old dusty pirate bottle someday. Also that Japanese/distillery exclusive Evan Williams 12yr.

Oddly it was my favorite BTAC before it got proofed up…it was the best 90 proof whiskey on earth IMO.

Sipping a 107 now, which is probably my favorite of the Weller line, although CYPB is pretty damn close.
I’d put them as follows…12 Year, FP, 107, Single Barrel, CYPB, and well behind the first 5 is SR for my personal taste.
Anybody try the Michters Barrel Strength Sour Mash yet? Was on the fence, but I love Michters, so will likely pull thee trigger. I’ve never been a toasted sour mash guy, but the barrel strength feels like it might land a little better.

I had it in passing. I don’t recall it being terrible or fantastic; I just recall it not being on my top 10 list at $75. For $55, I’d probably reconsider!
$50 at K&L right now. Seems like a good price?
I am a believer in trying anything Heaven Hill, especially BIB items. At $50 I’d certainly give one a go.
Sorry, caught this on the run and forgot to respond. Sure, largely for the reasons Kris mentioned. Plus, it’s at BiB proof, so if you’re not a fan served neat, it’s a great Manhattan mixer at that ABV.
